    Each student will read individually to check for the proper pronunciation of consonants, vowels, digraphs, blends, vowel pairs, etc.

    Students will respond to comprehension questions after hearing a passage read to them.

    Students will independently read to themselves selected reading passages on a assortment of topics, expressed in variety of genres, over a range of reading comprehension skills. i.e. literal, compare and contrast, sequence, inferential, predicting, etc.

    Vocabulary

    Student will identify vocabulary words in multiple choice can clozed format. Students will be expected to be able to spell each word and use the word in a sentence that they have created.

    Students will be expected to respond to a writing prompt with a graphic organizer and a well focused paper using the 6 + 1 process.
