Dear Students & Family Members,
Welcome to My class! I hope you are as excited as I am to be here as we begin our new partnership in education! Please be assured that SUCCESS is the only option for students at Merrillville High School, and specifically, in my classroom!
Supplies needed for this class:
3-Ring Binder (1-inch type or paper-style are fine), spiral notebook, pack of colored pencils (for color coding), and a highlighter (for Reading Strategies), Students are also expected to bring their own pen and pencil.
Suggestions for Success.Make attendance a priority in order to facilitate success in my class.
Actively participate in class assignments and discussions.
Complete assignments in a quality manner, within expected timelines.
Take advantage of ongoing extra credit opportunities to enhance learning and grades.
Follow all rules as defined in the MHS Handbook, in addition to the safety rules and lab procedures to be presented within this computer laboratory classroom. No food or beverages are allowed in this classroom.
Contribute to a safe & positive learning environment by:
Respecting Themselves
Respecting Others
Respecting Property
Establish goals, monitor performance via the electronic grade book, get engaged and have fun!
In Addition:
ALL make up exams/quizzes must be completed in my room either before or after school within agreed upon timeframes. Failure to show will result in a “0” grade on that assessment. If or when a student is suspended, work must be requested while the student is out. All assignments are due upon the day of the student’s return to school, as described in the Pirate Student Handbook.
